I would love to take credit for this recipe but I can’t, that would be lying. I found this great Sloppy Joes recipe on allrecipes.com one evening when I was looking for a healthier version than the junk in the can.
Neat Sloppy Joes
2lbs lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 (10.75) can condensed tomato soup
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tblsp white vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
11/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1. Place the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until it is browned. Stirring to a crumble.
2. Add onion and celery to the meat mixture – Cover pan and cook until they are tender and transparent
3.Stir in the tomato soup(undiluted), ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce – Season with the salt and garlic powder
4. Heat to a simmer over low heat.
5. Put on buns and enjoy!
This recipie is so tasty that my kiddos inhale it. I always make sure we have a healthy side to compliment the sandwich. Try it and enjoy!
