We’re moving….Surviving Foreclosure

Foreclosure in Arizona

*Sigh* It’s official. We are moving.  Things were never explained or worked out with the bank and so we are leaving.  It’s disappointing, embarrassing, and exciting.

I will explain the three emotions:

I am disappointed that even though we made smart financial decisions in buying our house and were responsible the entire time we still were hit.  I don’t understand why they won’t talk to us or explain their reasoning behind raising our mortgage.  It now sounds like a broken record and I truly don’t believe that anyone understands why it went up, it just did, and now they want “their” money.

I am incredibly embarrassed.   We are a now part of a statistic.  We look irresponsible.  I don’t like looking irresponsible and I don’t have the time nor the energy to explain to EVERYONE the situation.  I just have to take this blow to my pride and move on past it…

Exciting.  Yes, it is a bit exciting.  We are finding a rental that is significantly cheaper and we will save a lot of money.  All this money will go into paying off all our debt.  AND if we stay on the track that we are currently on we will be completely debt free in just over a year! That is exciting!  The possibilities with no debt are almost endless!

So, here we go.  A new, slightly less fun, adventure that I know will teach us new things and in the end only make us stronger.

    I went through it two years ago. I completely understand all three emotions. Have you spoken to an attorney about your options, about different programs that might help? I am glad you are able to see the positive and look forward to a new begining. If you need to talk, you know how to reach me. Much Love!

    My son has experienced the same situation in the last year. We watched, helpless to do anything to make it better, except for emotional support! Please don't feel bad, it is happening everywhere~~to many, many people!Having your family is the most important thing on earth and years from now you will be able to look back and think wow, this really made me a better person. When one door closes another one……..you know the saying and I believe it is so true! Hang in there for the long haul and enjoy the future that you have.It is just material stuff "}

    You will be alright. I believe that there are a lot of families out there who don't understand what happened and no one will explain it to them in terms they can understand. I am so excited for you all. Debt free!!! In a year!!! That sounds so good. Don't be embarrassed. You did all that you were supposed to do. Circumstances were beyond your control. Just trust God and He will help you through it all.

    I'm impressed with your good outlook on this. With this economy and the red tape that the bank authorities are able to get away with – it's really scary what most Americans are being pushed into! Without going into detail, my Ex-Hubby really pulled a number on me, and I am now 10 years later dealing with Many Things to try and clear my name. Plus I am wiping out some debt he himself created that had my name attached to. So unfair! I've lost out on So Much Money over these 10 years because of what he pulled and it has really damaged my chance of saving any money for retirement. (I'm in my mid 40's) I can only lick my wounds and keep moving forward. I have to use all these examples to teach my children what to be careful of and what to avoid to secure their futures. I guess that is a Silver Lining??It sounds that you and your husband have a positive plan and outlook. You WILL pull through this and you WILL bounce back!! You know what they say – when one door shuts another one opens. Look at the open door and be positive what all is on the other side in your future, and try not to dwell on the closed one. Dealing with and closing chapters in your life is much more rewarding – less baggage. Believe me – the baggage has been very depressing and emotionally draining in my situation, and I only wish I had been able to figure this all out much sooner. I am not able to deal with or clear everything, but what I am able to do right now (with the help of a wonderful, caring CPA) is closing a few doors and opening a few others. I just have to look at those open doors and be careful of the ones that still need shut.God Bless You and Your Family!
